Dialectical Behavior Therapy - DBT - Dr. Heymen is an "Intensively Trained DBT Therapist" with over 15 years of experience utilizing this effective treatment approach. DBT is focused on building life skills, such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.

Trauma Recovery - Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and other Exposure Therapies - These treatment approaches focus on reorganizing traumatic memories that interfere with an individual's daily functioning. 

Anxiety Disorders- Dr. Heymen has over 30 years experience helping patients with the challenges of: Generalized Anxiety Disorder; Posttraumatic Stress Disorder; Social Anxiety/ Phobia; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Panic Disorder.

Holistic Health and Fitness - Dr. Heymen acknowledges that a person's overall health is dependent not only on their mental and emotional well-being, but also on their physical fitness.

General Psycological Counseling - Dr. Heymen provides services to individuals, couples and families. These services include supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, marital therapy and family therapy.

Dr. Lynda Heymen believes in setting clear goals and establishing a therapeutic partnership to meet agreed upon objectives. She is compassionate, but direct, and makes every effort to balance acceptance and validation with the need for change.

Dr. Heymen often works with a variety of other local providers in a “team” approach to patient care, including psychiatrists, group therapists, career counselors and nutrition counselors. This approach allows the patient to address multiple needs and many facets of the healing process, sometimes simultaneously.
